Weekly Update

Lincoln Families,

As we prepare for the upcoming school year at Lincoln, our team is working thoughtfully to ensure a smooth, welcoming, and successful start for every scholar and family. Although September may still feel a little ways away, important work is underway to ensure our school is ready when scholars return.

Some of the areas our team has been focusing on include:
  • Planning the back-to-school BBQ event for all scholars and their families
  • Completing staff training and making needed adjustments in preparation for teachers’ return
  • Hiring new staff members to support scholars from their very first day
  • Cleaning, organizing, and preparing the building so it is welcoming and ready for learning
  • Finalizing scholar schedules
  • Collaborating with colleagues across the district to strengthen connections and ensure scholars feel supported at every level

Last week was especially productive, and I am excited to share the finalized schedule for our first week of school in this update. We recognize that staggered start dates can be challenging for families with scholars in multiple grade levels. As a parent of children in elementary and high school, I understand firsthand the coordination this can require. This approach, however, allows us to welcome scholars in smaller groups, build relationships, review expectations, and provide the support needed for a strong beginning to the school year.

We are grateful for your partnership and for the trust you place in us to care for, support, and educate your children. Preparing for the year ahead has been a joy, and our entire Lincoln team looks forward to welcoming our scholars and families back in September.

Registration & Back-to-School BBQ

In the past, our registration day and Back-to-School BBQ have been held on two separate days. This year, we are excited to combine these events into one evening to make the start of the school year a little easier and more convenient for families!

Our Back-to-School BBQ will be a great opportunity to connect with the Lincoln community before school starts. Families will be able to enjoy dinner together, pick up student schedules, meet teachers, ask questions, and take care of any registration fees that still need to be paid.

If possible, we encourage families to complete the district registration process and pay fees online ahead of time if that option becomes available. Taking care of these items before the BBQ will allow you to spend more of the evening visiting with teachers, meeting other families, and helping your student feel ready and excited for the first day of school.

We hope you will join us! This is a great opportunity for students and families to get comfortable with the building, meet some of the people who will be supporting your student this year, and start the school year feeling connected and prepared.
